Now that the glitz and glam of NYFW is over, we spoke with Sigma PRO Josephine Fusco who used her artistry skills to key the Raul Penaranda show for his fall 2016 line at New York Fashion Week.
Sigma PRO: What was the brainstorming process like with Raul?
Josephine Fusco: The overarching theme of the collection was ‘Emerge’, the coming of new, and showing the world who he is as a designer. Raul sent swatches of the fabric, key tones from the collection, and sketches of the designs
SP: This look is wearable, why was that important?
JF: We wanted a minimal look that was still wearable for the modern woman. It is a day-to-night look that any woman can wear. I realize that it is a lot of makeup for some and a little makeup for others but can be taken from the office to happy hour. It’s my version of a glamorous 10-minute face.
SP: What were the key elements to the look?
JF: The berry-toned wine stain will be the new dark lip for fall so we incorporated that as well. We kept the lids completely bare and just added the New York City lash from Smoke and Mirrors Beauty. We used Sigma brushes to make sure the skin was flawless, for foundation we used the 3DHD Kabuki, the P84 + P86 for concealer, highlighted the high points of the face with the E35, and lightly dusted blush onto the cheeks with the F10 and blending with the F25.
